Chapter 22. In Debt
The party ended and Giovanna took Caio home and bathed him while he was asleep. He was exhausted. She put his pyjamas on and kissed him on the forehead. Then she went downstairs, thinking about the wine she'd bought at the supermarket, and saw a blue bicycle in the living room. She approached it and took the card that was with it.
"May it last as long as it lasts."

She picked up the bike and took it to the rubbish bin in front of her house and threw it in. She looked around, but there was no-one there. She returned home and opened her wine and drank it in the living room, listening to Freddie Mercury while her mobile phone charged. She slept right there.
