Chapter 21. The Party

Giovanna got up and, after looking after the house, woke Caio up and gave him a bath. After feeding him, she called a taxi and went to the bank. The attendant welcomed her and, having learnt of her plans, told her that the bank needed three days after she signed the contract to send the money to her account. She signed, and left to see the hall she had rented for the party. She had also hired an actor to dress up as Spiderman. He thought the preparations were as she'd asked and drove off to the factory in his new car.

She sat down in her seat after going to Theo's office. He hadn't arrived yet, which made her imagine that it must have been a long night. She shook her shoulders and distracted herself by answering the phone. She was surprised that it was already lunchtime, and Theo hadn't even called, as he always made a point of having lunch together.
