Chapter 4. Prophecies Come True
Brendon smiled debauchedly.
"Of course she was... Her life's priorities always came down to her own well-being... This maternal love came late. I don't need it and I don't want it." Brendon said and picked up his bags again. He was already approaching Jordan's parents when his father said something that made him stop and smile with real joy.
"Can you repeat what you said?"
"Repeat what? That you're just like your father. That you're nothing but a failure, and just like him, you'll end up in some workshop as an apprentice mechanic."
"A very honorable profession." Brendon said with a dreamy look on his face. "Then I don't have to feel bad about not feeling anything for you. You're not my father. You could have given me this joy before."
