Chapter 3. The Reunion
Brendon returned thoughtfully to the orphanage and didn't take part in the day's activities with his friends. He wanted to be alone. He took the photos he had taken the day he first saw it to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. Even though only the tree appeared, it didn't exist near the fence where he found the young woman.
Worst of all, he had no way of telling her where he was and how she could find him. He had completely forgotten to give her any information. On the other hand, she didn't seem to need him to say anything. The way she looked was like someone who got the information she was interested in some other way.
When Jordan arrived, Brendon told him what had happened. His friend wanted to go back into the forest, but Brendon refused. He knew he wouldn't see her there again. For she had only appeared to say goodbye.
That night, Brendon dreamt of her. She was wearing schoolgirl clothes and smiling as she talked to him.
