Chapter 12. The Dare
Brendon knew, as soon as he arrived at his building from where he worked, that Jordan had gone away to sort out some personal matters. He knew exactly where his friend had gone, and at first he was annoyed, but then he thought that with Jordan's sudden and unexpected trip, Brendon would feel more comfortable visiting Mr. Miles and finding out more details about his adventure in the forest. He didn't want Jordan to become obsessed like him. Jordan was a man of extravagant and outgoing habits and perhaps he would have been like that himself if he hadn't entered the forbidden forest.
In his heart, he prayed that Jordan wouldn't see anything and wouldn't start to feel the same way about the girl in the forest as he did, and he admitted that he had been clever when he had decided to travel the same night they had talked, or he would have done everything in his power to dissuade his friend.
