Chapter 15. Good Man
Brendon was looking at the projection of the new hospital that one of his architects had sent him. He had his elbows on the table and his chin resting on two clasped hands. He looked at Jordan when he came in and closed his laptop.
"How was your trip?" Brendon asked, feeling his mood change too. It was reassuring to see that his friend was okay.
"It was good, thanks for asking, but... What happened here? The room outside is empty."
"It's not because I have more money than I can spend that I have to throw it away. Those young women weren't doing anything important here. I thought it best to give them an opportunity to pursue a more promising career."
"Did you send them to another company of yours?"
"No. I just sent them away. I'm not responsible for other people's incompetence."
Jordan sat down and looked at his friend with a displeased expression.
