Chapter 20. Projects

"Since Brendon isn't very willing to talk about his feelings, I think he could use some news." Olav said to break the awkward silence.

"Tell us about it." Jordan said, relieved that they had something else to talk about. The girl from the cursed forest was no longer just something to do with his friend Brendon. It was part of his life, too.

"Brendon's father is in town. Staying at my house, actually." He announced, sounding relieved too.

Jordan looked inquiringly at Olav.

"You hosted that animal in your house and you talk as if he deserves an award?"

"He's not talking about the man who abandoned me at boarding school, Jordan." Brendon explained, amused by his friend's confusion.

"Your biological father? Why would you want a man in your life who abandoned your pregnant mother?"

"I... I feel and see strange things that maybe he can explain to me."
