Chapter 64. The Poisoned Soup

Samira felt obliged to follow Brendon into the dining room with the others. She disguised her fright when she saw Jasmine sitting in her place. But she had no problem, as she stood up as soon as Samira entered the room.

Samira realized that she was wearing the white owl she loved so much. She sat down and saw sadly that Brendon was also watching Jasmine. She knew it was irrational, but she was jealous of Jasmine. She knew that all she had to do was snap her fingers and Brendon would leave her to be with her. Samira felt Jasmine bend down and come close to her ear;

"Don't eat your soup, Lurdes put something in there..."

Everyone was already eating and Samira didn't know how to get rid of her plate. She couldn't accuse Lurdes openly.

If Brendon had the soup examined and found that there was nothing poisonous in it, she would be treated as a madwoman and Lurdes would gain strength in the house.
