The first thing I felt was cold, one that froze the blood in my veins, made goosebumps erupt on my skin, and turned me into a shivering mess. Despite the coldness, I was sweating to a point I could feel the droplets flowing from the sides of my head down to my face. I tried to lift my hands to wipe them, but something restricted the movement.
"Magic," I whispered. "Dark magic," I added, fluttering my eyes open, blinking rapidly as I looked at my wrists. I gasped as chains came into view, and only then did I feel the metal biting into my skin around my wrists. My legs were bound too, the concrete floor beneath me hard, unforgiving.
