I woke up to someone calling my name, followed by hushed tones. "Please let me just touch her face," the voice, though not clear yet in my sleepy ears, said. I was sleeping on my stomach, clutching a pillow tightly.

"She has been through a lot; you have to understand that she needs a lot of rest," Kai's voice was much clearer.

"Once she awakens, you will be the first one to see her, Thorne," Ronan added, my heart jumping in my chest. So my dad was here, in the same room as me.

There was a short silence before my dad spoke. "This is my only chance," he whispered, a heaviness in his voice. "I am not sure she will want to see me after she wakes up. Have you forgotten that she doesn't want anything to do with me?"
