Chapter 26
They had a speedboat behind the Flamingo Hotel. The Flamingo was not the finest hotel in all of Denver, but it was not the worst either. It had the fine lake by the side and the river behind that must have inspired its name. Martin had decided once he listened to the recording and knew the deal was going down at Flamingo’s that the river was the safest way to get there.
So, while the ‘Ceramic’ had simply arranged their fake supply paper and arrived the usual way like any other delivery van would, the rest of the truck had arrived via water on a boat, the car had been hurled out at midnight the previous day and hidden in the best spots that would afford them to drive off when they needed to and yet cloak them so no one became suspicious.
“He’s going in again,” Flick said, for the third time that night.
“I have a feeling this is it,” Martin said and sat up on his chair.
“He’s not coming out; I don’t think he will,” Flick said and then communicated with the man
