Chapter 60
Smith did not trust Jack; he had his reservations concerning the man, and he hoped that the mission they were assigned to would end swiftly so he could rid himself of the man’s strange behavior.
Still at his dinner table, butt naked as he usually slept due to the hot nights and his financial inability to afford a cooling system for the small apartment he rented, he ate his cereal and then sagged in the chair, hoping the late meal wouldn’t give him constipation later on.
After finishing his dinner, he went to the bedroom and picked up his telephone, calling Teddy again, hoping he would pick up this time. Teddy did, and Smith smiled to himself in the dim room.
“Did you take a vow to make my fucking life more fucking miserable than it fucking is already?” Teddy asked, his voice low but harsh in tone.
“I have news for you, and I think you’ll want to listen to this,” Smith urged.
