Elise’s POV
“Well, Jonathan was your destiny, so I would hope so,” Richard said as if it were a simple fact.
I stopped moving when he said those words. I must have misunderstood him.
“What did you say?” I couldn’t put together a single thought.
“Here is where I live. If you come to me alone one day, I’ll answer any
questions you have.” He finished wrapping the bandage on his own, and then he got up from the table. “I was sure I had to kill you, but now all I want to do is keep you safe. Be careful, Princess; your enemies are by your side.”
I started to cry, and I couldn’t stop it. I wanted to run after that man, but I couldn’t.
“What’s going on? Are you in danger!” Caius’s voice was full of anger because he could feel my pain through our connection and magic. When I looked around, I saw that everyone had stopped moving. I lost control and let my soul magic run wild with the people I was connected to.
