Chapter 45. Prisoners

Owen’s POV

Before Kalix and I told anyone, especially Elise, about Caius's real plans, I had to find out what they were. I didn't like how close she was getting to Caius, and I didn't like how easily she trusted him. I wasn't sure if she would tell him or not if she knew we had his sister. Kalix agreed that we should wait before telling anyone else. He saw that they had something in common and didn't like it. We had a pack to look after and a King to kill, but ever since we were kids, keeping Elise safe was our top priority.

I walked down the prison's clean, white halls. My Alpha father gave me charge of the prisoners, and I turned the old, smelly dungeons into a place that felt more like a hospital.

Most of the prisoners were from wars that didn't need to happen.
