When Dahlia noticed his strange behavior and asked about it, he turned towards her to explain. When he returned his attention to the painting, the eyes still gave him a shock, but the more he looked, the more doubt crept in. So when Dahlia asked if he was sure, he was able to tell her with some form of confidence that maybe he was wrong. Maybe this was just a case of resemblance, a coincidence.
The bid started off easy, with $50,000 as the starting price. The first two bids were normal, leaving it at $70,000, but then a tremor went through the room when someone suddenly raised it to $500,000.
