Chapter 27. Practice Makes Perfect
Carlos barely had much free time before he was carted off for the drill. Shortly after he arrived home, a man with a funny mustache showed up to teach him how to carefully separate a painting from its frame. The Del Rosa painting they intended to steal had a gilded frame, so the man used one with a gilded frame to teach him.
The man was impressed that Carlos was not clumsy with the small tools. Carlos knew that it was years of taking care while doing customer service. Back then, he always made sure that he did his best in whatever he did.
After the lesson, he went on an errand for the consortium; he went in place of Stones to receive the monthly report from one of the Man in Black’s many businesses. He returned to take a language lesson; he was becoming increasingly fluent in German and French.
