Chapter 280. More Than What She Seems
Carlos walked into the party welcomed by bright houselights, ushers in plain black and angry classical music. For some reason it sounded like the music was a foreshadowing to something awful. It was the kind you heard in old movies portraying gothic stories of murder, death and something sinister or monstrous. The kind of music with aggressive violin music steadily rising towards a crescendo where it will pause and drop with heavy deep notes.
The hall was as packed as they had predicted, he doubted any member of the guest were unable to make it. He couldn’t help remember the first time he’d been to this thing, he’d had Dahlia at his arm, small and looking like a tall glass of lethal poison.
