Chapter 281. I Killed Elizabeth
For the first time in a long time Carlos felt like he was in the middle of the sea, gripping on to a piece of floatsam with no form of solid ground in sight. It was not an unfamiliar feeling, this lack of surety. He felt it a lot when he’d first showed up at the super consortium. No way of knowing if he was being lied to, who was lying to him and how he could tell the truth.
Feeling that way as a new member of something as big and insane as the super consortium was frightening to say the least but he could survive because he always got the feeling that at least one person was telling the truth and even if they were lying, they had no intention to hurt him.
