Chapter 80. Wait Till She Begins to Rot
The first time Fiona was kidnapped, she was seven. A man who’d wanted a piece of her father’s money had snatched her up on her way home from school after wasting her driver and security protocol. She’d been so terrified and was certain she’d never see the light of day again. Rumor had it that when her father was through with her kidnapper, his mother could not recognize the body.
The next time she was kidnapped, she was seventeen, and it was on the orders of her father. Life was a funny thing. She’d gotten out of the second kidnapping by playing possum. She’d lain down pretending to be dead for four hours and was rushed to somewhere where she could get suitable medical attention. It was easy to get away from there. She employed that trick again with the Leopard Seal. It was a winner and was bound to get something—anything—out of the man, or so she’d thought, and boy, was she wrong.
She’d lain stiff as a board for nine hours; she knew because the guards said it out loud.
