Chapter 10. Imagination

Savannah’s POV

“Explain to me why you disappear from your own party for almost three hours, leaving behind a group of wonderful gentlemen who’ve traveled far and wide to make your acquaintance?!” Dad huffs as he sits back in his chair. His eyes are demanding, waiting for my answer.

Sitting across the desk from him, I look down at the hem of my dress. The once beautiful and impeccable dress is now dirty with all the mud and dirt from the woods. If I had stepped out into the party looking like Taylor Swift, I might as well be Taylor Spit at this point.

“Dad, I was just doing everything you told me to do…” I say lowly. “I talked and mingled with everyone, well, mostly everyone. And when Logan and Harlan asked about seeing the lake, I thought I’m just being friendly, so I went out and showed it to them…”
