Savannah’s POV
“Savannah, you really shouldn’t be here.”
My heart drops six feet under the ground! I turn around and I see Carter, standing tall hovering above me, bathed in the pale moonlight.
My mouth falls open, but there are no words. My heart is pounding, and I find myself trapped between the mystery locked behind the door and the enigma that is Carter. His presence here, in the dead of night, raises more questions than answers. The eerie ambiance of the South Tower takes on a new, unsettling meaning, and I can’t help but wonder what secrets it holds—secrets that both Carter and his family seem determined to keep hidden.
