Chapter 34

“Mora is being sent back to Pembroke until further notice.” 

    “What? Why?” I could not believe my ears. 

    Of course, it was what I had wanted, but it was not what I had expected to hear. 

    “It was either Mora or you, and since you are my daughter, you should be with me here,” Ed said without even looking my way. 

    “Isla, I am so sorry for all of this. I had to get out of Pembroke.” My mother said. 

    “And what if Mora tells everyone that you are alive? Do you not think they will come here looking for you?” My voice trembled as tears started to fall from my eyes. I did not even bother to wipe them. 

    “She has been sworn to secrecy. She is packing her things, and my beta will escort her back to Pembroke. Alpha Miller has already been informed.” 

    A knock at the door caused Ed to curse under his breath.
