It was getting late, and I knew that tomorrow, I would continue my quest to find out why my pack was forced into an unprovoked attack.
“I need to face him now. I cannot rest until I know.” I sighed heavily, and Isla wrapped her arms around me. I closed my eyes as her beautiful, intoxicating scent filled my nostrils and every pore of my body.
“Then go, find out and be safe, my Alpha.” She kissed my lips and released her arms from around me. As I stood up to leave, I turned back to face her.
“Isla, I love you, and everything will be fine. Please be assured of that.” I watched as she tended to baby Carrie, who was beginning to stir in her cot. It gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling to see how much she doted on that beautiful baby.
One day, we would have a baby of our own. I could not wait, but for now, I had some serious business to attend to.
