Chapter 24
When Asher was sure that Orion had left and would not return, he gave up for a while and looked down at Azalea, who seemed to have gotten on her toes ready to flee as well. But the fear in her eyes was unmistakable, and her body trembled with every movement she made.
"Don't worry about it, I will make sure to convince him," Asher spoke with reassurance.
Azalea's nervous voice quivered as she spoke, "No, it's okay. I understand it. Clair is reluctant too. I think we should give them some time together to bond."
His eyes held her gaze, and she couldn't break away from it. "Then I will leave too. We can arrange a meeting again once the two kids are ready to meet," she tried to get up, but Asher pressed on her shoulder and kept her seat. He got on his knees and swiftly reached out to her foot and examined it.
