Chapter 40
Ray drove Azalea back to the mansion, stopping the car before the main door and getting out to open it for her.
“Thank you, Ray,” she said as she stepped out. “Have a good night,” she added, heading towards the door. Ray, feeling uneasy about the entire evening, spoke out with urgency.
“Boss!” he called, causing Azalea to turn around.
“Yes, Ray?”
“Boss, I was wondering if— if anything about tonight felt a little off to you?” he blurted out.
Azalea stared at him for a while before tilting her head in confusion. “Are you referring to me falling into Orion’s arms? You already know I am already embarrassed by it,” she said, scrunching her eyes as her fist tightened, seemingly given flashbacks of a while ago.
