Chapter 37. Nightmares
Lola’s eyes shot open, her chest heaving as she gasped for air. Beads of sweat clung to her forehead, and her heart raced in her chest. She frantically looked around, taking in her surroundings, and realized she was in the safety of her own room. It had all been a terrifying nightmare, but the remnants of fear still clung to her like a shroud.
In her dream, Lola had awoken to find herself face-to-face with a monstrous creature, its eyes glinting with an insatiable hunger. With horror coursing through her veins, she fought back, desperately trying to push the creature away. But her efforts were in vain as she was plunged into a labyrinth, a maze of twisted corridors and endless darkness.
Panic seized Lola as she raced through the labyrinth, her footsteps echoing in the empty halls. Each turn she took seemed to lead her deeper into the clutches of the monster. Fear gnawed at her, but she summoned every ounce of strength to keep running, desperate to escape its grasp.
