Aria threw Cole’s door open and looked at the bed first thing. He wasn’t there. And there wasn’t another woman. She huffed and went to the bathroom. No sight of him in the bath or shower.

She went to the balcony and saw him seated there with some files in front of him. He had his glasses on and was reading so seriously, she found it sexy.

“I could hear your heartbeat while you spoke with my guards just now. You’re either excited about something or still pissed at me.” He dropped the files and looked up at her. “And I’m guessing it’s the latter?”

Aria inhaled and exhaled after. “Neither. She folded her arms.”

Cole got up from where he sat and stood next to her. Aria blinked as she looked up at him. Her body tensed as usual from how close he was to her. She wondered if it was the same for him; if his skin boiled with desire by merely standing next to her.
