Chapter 68

“Oh, that’s him.” Aren turned when the man who had been attending to him spoke. “Boss said to let him go?” He heard him ask his co-worker.

“Yup,” The other man replied and leaned in over to say something private. “I think someone big made a call for him.”

“What are you doing here?” Cole asked him once he was close enough and Aren looked in Aria’s direction, making Cole’s eyes follow too.

Cole’s heart stopped when he saw the tears in Aria’s eyes. He left Aren and went to her immediately, startling her when he squatted right next to her. Aria held her chest, breathing in sharply after realising it was him.

He smiled at her and she looked away, trying to dry her face quickly, not wanting him to see that she cared about him. When she thought all her embarrassing tears were gone, she turned back to him.

“Wow, Selena was right, Aren did know what to do.”
