They collided hard; teeth barrelling and claws drawing blood from each other. Selena fought viciously and desperately, but the woman she faced was trained and ruthless in the fight; every move was precise. Selena faltered once; just once, and it cost her.

The guard attempted to lift her from the ground she dragged her with so Aria reached for the leaves, and then empty air when she couldn’t grab the leaves anymore.

She caught one last glimpse of Selena sprawled and bleeding, eyes wide and terrified but still fixed on her.
