Chapter 18. Need

Trembling and trying to ignore the crying inside my mind, I nodded.

“Great.” Mom’s lips curved into a smile. “Don’t think about anything else, okay?”

She helped me lie properly on the bed as she stood up. Then, Mom placed the blanket over my body, covering me.

“The side effect should be gone after a few hours, just in time before your sleep time. But if it doesn’t, if that… crying continues inside your mind, then inform me immediately.”

“Yes, Mom,” I affirmed, my eyes shutting down even if I don’t like it.

I don’t know if it was the medicine’s side effect or something, but it felt like all my energy was being taken away from me.

“Good night, sweetie.”
