His Mate - 41. Long-Lost Brother
Samantha's POV
Before anyone can say anything more, a feeble woman walks through and hands a plate to me and Jack. Then, another woman walks in to feed us. The food is all mush. I can't tell what it originally was, it lacks flavor and color. I close my mouth. I will not eat more of that.
"You need to eat." Her voice is croaky and low.
I shake my head. "No."
She gets up and leaves. I watch the woman feeding Jack, while Jack watches me. There is a slight look of contempt on his face every time the woman feeds him. He tries multiple times to stop, but she keeps giving him more. Soon, the whole plate is gone and Jack looks sickly.
"Jack, are you alright?" I check.
He shakes his head, "No."
As soon as that's said, I get an ominous feeling. Jack's eyes roll back into his head.
