Chapter 6. I Can’t Stay Here

As Leah slowly opened her eyes, she couldn’t feel her body because she had used up so much energy. She moves her head and is glad she can turn it to the side. She was sure she was still in the palace because she was lying on a soft, comfortable bed with a beautiful ceiling. Looking over her shoulder, she saw a man reading a book with his legs crossed.

Oh...

She was sure he already knew she was awake, but he didn’t even look at her.

“I need to go home...” Leah was so weak that she could barely hear herself talk.

If she doesn’t make it home, she’s afraid it will be long before she can regain her strength. She wants to find a medicine to help get her mana back.

“You are quite stubborn, aren’t you?” Amoux’s voice was authoritative, even just asking.

He put the book down and looked at her.

Leah turned away from him because she couldn’t look at him. She also didn’t answer what he said. A hand touched her heart when she saw that he was still alive.
