Chapter 7. Soaked
My hair was in my mother’s hand, she had a tight grip on it and without mercy, she was dragging me out the door.
Lisa was crying, and I think she had called someone on the phone. She was explaining what was going on and asking for help. No, not asking, begging. “Please hurry!” She cried, and my heart broke for her.
Typical of me, even while being in a situation like this, I was not feeling sorry for myself, but for my younger sister. This must be so traumatizing for her.
But imagine how it must have been for me. “Let me go!” I cried. “Mom, you’re hurting me!” The tears just kept falling from my eyes.
“Get out of my house!” The woman shouted in my face as she finally let me go when I was on the front porch. Immediate relief filled me, but then she shoved me and my head hit the pillar
