Chapter 10. My Scholarship
Or hoping that I had played this entire thing in my mind. But that was not the case. This was real. And this was my life.
“I’m sorry, the bus came late and I—“ I knew that I couldn’t tell him the real reason that I was late. Not with everyone in the class looking at me.
I didn’t want my trauma to be out there for them to discuss and make fun of. They were vultures, just waiting for the slightest chance.
“Sara, leave my class.” The man didn’t seem to be changing his mind. He had a tight frown on his face, and he looked like he was going to yell at me if I kept standing there.
“Please…” my voice broke.
“Out. Now.”
I released a shaky breath and then made my way out of the classroom after peeling my eyes off him. Once out of the class and with the door closed behind me, I leaned against the wall and allowed the tears to fall from my eyes.
