Chapter 11. The Cookie Jar Incident
Calla gasped, suddenly finding it hard to breathe. Like the air got knocked out of her lungs. She trembled with fear and fastened her steps out of Rico’s mansion.
Then she saw Bruno leaning by the car. He propped up when he saw her, tossing the cigarette to the ground and stamping on it.
“The boss instructed me to drop you off,” he said, pulling the driver’s seat open and sliding in.
Calla didn’t respond. She rushed to the passenger’s side and got in, her hands trembling with fear.
“Take me to Greenhill Hospitals,” she instructed.
Maybe he noticed her hands quivering, but he didn’t say anything. He started the car and drove onto the road.
Calla tried Luxe’s number many times, but it rang and went straight to voicemail. She panicked, the fear growing bigger.
Maybe they got to Luxe, then her brother.
She couldn’t stop the bad thoughts.
“Can you step on the gas,” She said, getting impatient. Bruno’s eyes flickered to her. “Please,”
