Chapter 10
"You called your doctors," she greeted him as she walked in.
"How long has Dr. Richards been here before the operation?"
"Almost two weeks," was her reply.
"And I didn't know?" My eyebrow went up.
She said, "Technically, you knew," she was right: "Harold gave the recommendation, and you okayed it. Perhaps the name was unfamiliar to you."
That made at least some sense now. Yes, I do recall Harold mentioning a Richards.
"How would you say her performance has been so far?" I asked.
She responded enthusiastically, "Outstanding, to be honest," adding, "She's been doing more than what's expected of an independent doctor. She provides assistance to other divisions, particularly pediatricians and gynecologists. She has helped with and even led several successful small procedures. The accident would be the sole black mark on their record."
