She put her hand on mine and said, "I really thought you and I would be parents together."

Yes, you are correct in saying that. At one point in the past, we were lovers. But now she was famous.

And when she invited me to come along by extending her hand... Then, I just couldn't take hers.

She just wasn't my type.

I groaned, "That's too bad. Please convey my condolences to Thomas."

"We aren't together anymore, though," she stated. "He moved on."

"I didn't know," I said. I usually ignored gossip about famous people.

She responded, "It's fine," as she released my hand and caressed her stomach again. “And furthermore, I've found someone new to love. He's after us both at once.”

“All's well that ends well," I grinned.

Her reply was a bright grin, "How long until we can start?"

"We need you to be in labor," I said. "There are other doctors who can handle this, you know?"

"Yeah, but I just wanted to sow this seed," she said.
