She cast curious glances in my direction.

“This is for you, Vicky.” He thanked her for being a watchdog and handed her cookies.

She said, "Thank you," without cracking a smile.

As they watched the two, the other girls were chuckling and whispering.

Seeing Vivian's sweet expression melted my heart.

“Can I check on you? You're a bit flushed, aren’t you?” He put his hand on her face and asked her.

Startled, she retreated a few steps before saying, "I'll go show this to Edna."

She bolted, and the other two girls gave chase.

"Must she show Edna?" The boy next to me sighed.

The boys won't know anything, of course.

Other than that, I'm glad I went. I felt my spirit revive as I listened to their playful arguing.
