I hate this!

I mentally scold myself when I'm not able to concentrate. I have been on the look out for Alex since I came into the office and I'm now restless as I haven't noticed him come in.

I half-heartedly attend to the clients in my office, looking out of the window every now and then for the man responsible for stealing my sleep away from me.

"Excuse me ma'am." One of the clients calls with a tap on my hand causing me to jerk back into reality.

"I'm sorry, you were saying?"

"I was just wondering how much it would cost to carry out the renovation."

"Oh. I don't handle the price aspects but you can meet up with the lady at the front desk. She'll handle all your enquiries." From my peripheral view, someone walks past the window and I turn to check it out. Alex casually strolls into the building and my heart beats faster.
