"Yes, but I've got this under control,” I said. "Please, let me see her now."
"She's not going to see you," Hannah said. "She even told me not to let you in if you ever found this place."
"I know, but I just want to try. All I need is just a chance, please."
"Do you still love her?"
"I do, with every bone in my body."
She was silent.
“Oh my goodness, I forgot to collect my iron from the neighbor," She groaned out the door and proceeded to the next apartment. "Oh no, now he's going to talk and talk and talk.”
I said nothing, and she didn't lock the door.
She said, "It would be a shame if anyone went into the house while I wasn't aware," and then turned away without looking back.
I silently thanked her and walked into the home, locking the door behind me.
