Applause?

I didn’t even know what was happening, my mind was swirling, I guessed people were clapping. I looked at the crowd, so many people, even the kids from school, phones up, cheering and someone whistled from the crowd.

And the Council were smiling, Salome was… glowing, or whatever. I didn’t see any of it. I hated the fact that I had done this. I didn’t give Salome another glance, when she glued herself to me for a couple’s photo. I was thinking about her.

I had seen her. Of course, even when the room was freaking bright for my eyes to focus.

Lila. In that red dress.

Standing way in the back of the room. Watching me kiss someone else.

She didn’t move. Not a muscle. She didn’t scream or run or anything.

She just… stood there.

And then,gone.

My phone. Right. I fumbled for it.
