Chapter 32. At the Woods
HAZEL’S POV
The once bright woods began to darken as she was enchanted. Fog filled the grounds and the temperature became chill and cold.
A black smoke surrounded her hands that was stretched over the house servant girl.
The girl coughed and her eyes flew open. So did her mouth. A white substance escaped the girl’s mouth and settled on the necklace Keisha held.
Keisha’s voice got louder as she said her enchantments. The wind began to blow harshly. My hands instinctively went around me to shield myself from the cold.
Ervin must have noticed it because he came behind me and hugged me.
He was quite warm and his temperature was enough to stop the chills. I secretly enjoyed the feel of his huge arms around me as he rubbed my skin creating friction.
“Thank you,” I whispered, sighing in contentment.
Suddenly, the wind stopped. The darkness cleared as well as the fog.
I turned to see them. Keisha handed the necklace to Canaan.
