Chapter 39. Blinking

HAZEL’S POV

The walk back to Stella’s chambers was a silent one. She took me to her work room which was directly opposite her bedroom.

“Are you alright?” She asked as she opened the door.

I nodded standing at the entrance without going in.

“Um. Sorry, can I retire back to my quarters? I don’t feel too well.”

She stared at me with eyes filled with concern.

“Sure sweetie. Take your time.”

I smiled at her and headed back to my room.

My room and Ervin’s were situated in the same area. Same hallway.

I walked to his room. I wanted to open it and go in, but on second thought, I changed my mind. I walked a few more steps and arrived at my door.

I pushed it open and headed in. My bed was made. Everywhere looked arranged and neat. Like a room that was not usually in use.

I had been spending most nights in Ervin’s room. Today I just wanted my space. I slowly walked to my bed. Climbed under the covers and lay.
