Chapter 45. Punish
HAZEL’S POV
“I’m going to the infirmary today,” I informed Ervin before I headed out.
I was getting very anxious and nervous in the pack house. I felt like my anxiety and actions might rat me out and make me a suspect so I left the pack house.
The walk to the infirmary was a short one but productive. I spent it wondering if I was making the right decision.
What if they find out that I stole from the pack? No one would trust me. Ervin could even hate me. Oh my God! Was Gia worth it? If I’m asked why I did it, what reasonable reason could I give?
“I felt empathy for the young girl Gia because she told me a pity sob story, so I decided to steal from my pack to save her life.”
I could already imagine the disappointment on their faces. What have I done?
I sighed. The deed had already been done. It would be unwise of me to stop. I should just finish what I started and face the full punishment when the time came.
