HAZEL’S POV

I woke up to a space beside me. Ervin’s side of the bed was cold which meant that he was long gone.

Weeks had gone by since the night of trading Gia for some potions. We were in winter. It has gotten very cold outside. Snow covers almost everything. Werewolves could withstand cold, but at this time of the year, we had to adjust. Everyone was bundled up in thick warm clothes outside. Thankfully, Stella had charmed the house to remain warm.

I had returned to sleeping beside Ervin in his room. I was a bit glad that he was not here right now. I liked spending this particular day alone.

I used to love birthdays when I was growing up. I loved every single bit of it. The decoration, the happy mood.

Until I grew up and heard people accusing me of killing my mother.

The very day I was born was the very day I murdered her. It was sick. I hated this day. Sometimes, I wished that I was not born.

Maybe she would have still been alive.
