Chapter 29
A knock on Cassandra’s door reminded her that it was morning, and she had barely closed her eyes.
Again.
She stirred on the bed, wondering why she bothered laying on it when she never got the sleep she wanted anyways. Her bloodshot eyes were rimmed red, staring into nothingness. She hadn’t been able to work the night before because all her thoughts were consumed by a certain black-eyed rogue who didn’t give a shit about her. She was way behind schedule, her deadline hammered above her head like a damn bell, reminding her that shit would happen if she couldn’t pay her rent.
The knock on her door became insistent, and she groaned, turning on her side so she could look at the door.
“Who’s there?” she called weakly. “Andino, It’s too early for this madness.”
There was silence on the other end, and hell, she had almost fallen asleep when a rather familiar yet also unwanted voice reached her ears.
“Miss Wilson, Master Andino requires your presence.”
