Chapter 30

Cassandra smiled proudly at the enchanted look on Keith’s face. Sure, she could be a menace in her shirts and boy shorts, but she certainly cleaned up well when she was in the mood. She hadn’t meant to go over the top, but when she’d worn the dress, it had felt like a crime not to do something with her hair. And with her hair done, it seemed natural to do something about her red eyes, hence the mascara.

Andino stared at her, his dark eyes bearing down on her intensely in a way that made her shiver. She could still feel his gaze down her body, staying briefly on her slightly exposed breasts and then drifting down the rest of her. If she was any paler, she would have blushed furiously. Rubbing her palm on her thighs, pinching the soft fabric.

“I take it you like the dress then?”

His eyes snapped back to her face, and a blank mask slid over his face.

“It is... decent,” he grumbled as if someone literally dragged the words out of his mouth and gestured at a chair
