Chapter 168. Into the Cage

Anneth entered The Cage's arena first, and, furious, Fiona impulsively ran after him.

"What are you doing? Against Aamon?" Fiona hissed. "But you two are friends. You're close!"

Anneth, smiling behind the mask that covered half of his face, replied calmly, "Aamon already knows. Even at the end of this game, if we duel, we will try to kill each other."

"But that's not Aamon's goal! Not this game, Anneth!"

Behind them, Red, Speed, Aamon, and the other assassins were also heading for the Cage. Fiona became increasingly frightened. She didn't want Anneth and Aamon to destroy one another. This was madness.

"Just stop, please," Fiona begged.

"It's better that Aamon fights me than the other assassins," Anneth said.

"But why?"

Anneth chuckled. "Because if Aamon dies, no one will protect you or Red. So I should be the one. That way, Aamon can still take care of you both."

"Don't say that. I'm worried..." Fiona's chest felt like it would explode.
