Chapter 170. Find the Lab

Red and her friends found a map in the bookstore and began to figure out where they were. The lab was in the northwest part of the square, about two miles away. Given the conditions outside, finding the lab would be even more difficult.

"What if we get lost?" Fiona asked, her voice beginning to waver. "There's nothing but snow out there."

Anneth, browsing the shop's displays, took something out of the display case. He held up a round object with a moving arrow on it.

"That's a compass, right? It points north?" guessed Anneth. "We could use that, though I have no idea how it works."

"Let me see it," Red said, extending her hand.

She scanned the compass, and her left eye provided information about the device. "We can use this. The data from my left eye will track our coordinates as we move. As long as we know the lab coordinates, we'll be fine," she explained.

"So when do we leave?" Fiona asked. "Now?"

Red shook her head. The infrared data fro
