Chapter 6
Lucian
He watches the array of bodyguards with Mr. La Morte and six other people in the middle.
As they move, his head follows them and I don’t know how, but I can tell tears are streaming from his eyes. Maybe it’s the way he blinks sharply to dispel them and clear his vision.
He watches them enter the vehicle and drops his hands to the side before breaking into a full on sob.
“I want to talk to that man.” I say to the mic and automatically, one of the men from the team at random, wait behind as the rest of them go on.
I’ll schedule a different flight for both of them back to the United States if he agrees.
I take a heavy breath of relief and drop the headset and microphone to calm my raging nerves. Revenge isn’t necessary. If it was, I’d be dead by now, over and again.
“Good morning, I hope you’re not in a towel. I’m coming in!” I hear a yell from outside and shortly after, true to her words, she bursts into the room.
